Design for Public Health

Design has long provided the tools and frameworks to drive meaningful change. As designers, we have a responsibility to engage with the world around us and use our skills to create tangible social impact—fostering environments where design and innovation drive improvements in public health and democratize access to essential services.

In her talk, Natalia Kritsali will share key insights from her design journey, highlighting the transformative role of service design in improving healthcare accessibility.

Drawing from her experience as the founder of Bloode, a pioneering initiative revolutionizing blood donation, she will explore how design fosters community engagement, helps break down systemic barriers, and empowers individuals and public health organizations to take action.

Reflecting this year’s theme, Steps Forward, Natalia will offer real-world examples and lessons from building Bloode, providing practical takeaways for designers, leaders, and changemakers looking to empower communities and create lasting impact—both within their organizations and in the world around them.
