About Patricia

Patricia is a UX Writing Associate Director at King, where she is leading the development of one of the first UX Writing crafts in the video game industry. Her work focuses on crafting player experiences through words and managing content operations.

Previously, she was the Head of Content at eDreams Odigeo, where she led UX Writing and Localization. There, she pioneered the collaboration between content and localization.

Before that, Patricia worked at Google as a Localization Manager for Spain and Portugal, where she played a key role in launching the Spanish versions of Android and Chrome.

UX Writing, a new(ish) craft in mobile games

UX Writing is a growing discipline at King that shapes player experiences through words, ensuring the right content appears at the right time. Traditionally, game designers or developers handled elements like UI components, error messages, and onboarding text—but as games evolve, so does the need for a dedicated UX Writing craft.

In this talk, Patricia will take you on a journey through the introduction of UX Writing at King and how it fits into the broader game design process. She’ll share how her team collaborates with UX, UI, research, game design, and narrative design to create more seamless and engaging player experiences.

Tying into this year’s theme, "Steps Forward," Patricia will explore how UX Writing is shaping the future of game development. As a newer discipline, it’s driving a shift in content design and cross-team collaboration. By integrating UX Writing into the design process, we are not only refining how games are developed today but also forging new connections between design disciplines for the future.
