What are we looking for?

If you're thinking about submitting your pitch, here are some themes and guidelines that can help you craft your proposal.

1. Community: Designing Connections
This theme explores the intersection of design, technology, and community. From fostering collaboration in product design to building networks through digital experiences, we’ll examine how design can strengthen connections between people. Whether it’s UX/UI that enables seamless teamwork, content strategies that bring communities together, or gaming platforms that unite players worldwide, this theme highlights the human-centric side of digital design and tech. It’s about creating spaces where people can engage, grow, and thrive together.

Examples: a product that serves the community, a product designed for collaboration, a multiplayer game, art on topics that represent diverse or specific communities, an open-source project, a branding campaign targeting specific groups/users, designing cities/spaces

2. Craft: Mastering the “How”
Dive into the practical, technical, and deeply creative aspects of design and technology. This theme celebrates the artistry and expertise that fuel exceptional products and experiences. From dissecting the mechanics of motion design to unraveling the intricacies of front-end development, this is where design gets delightfully nerdy. Here, we’ll spotlight the “how” behind the work—offering insights, methods, and inspiration to refine your craft and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Examples: how to build an AI repository, typography, design systems, a talk showcasing the creation of a product from start to finish, a case study, specific content design tips, or do's and don'ts.
