Layshi is a designer who has been specializing in user experience (UX) and accessibility (a11y) for the past 8 years. She is a communication educator of "Talk their language", where she teaches companies and designers how to understand each other. There, harnessing her academic background, she provides both corporate and private training. Layshi is also a Design Advocate and the CEO of Command Z - a traveler podcast about design, tech, and communications - with episodes in Spanish and English that featured more than 10 countries around the world. She believes that everything in this life is designed - whether it is an object, a moment, or a thought. Layshi is changing the world one pixel at a time!
Over the Rainbow: The Wizard of Us - designing a perfect world.
How can service design improve the quality of living for people in the LGBTQIA+ community? How many people can be saved with just a change of a color of a button? Decisions such as buying a home, the big step of getting married, or expanding a family may be impacted by design. You will learn a new point of view on how to design with inclusion in mind but most importantly how to create products that expand you horizons when it comes to innovation, responsibility, and leading the change. This talk will cover the intersectionality of gender, and the repercussions it has in society when the design is not part of the equation, extending even further to dreaming on the idea of the “Us” world “on the rainbow”.
