The Not-So-Secret (But Often Overlooked) Keys to Inclusivity

A lot of applications and sites currently don’t use inclusive language or offer sufficient accessibility, and that contributes significantly to users feeling othered and invisible. When we research, design, write, and code with inclusivity in mind, we tell our users that we see them, we hear them, and we want to create a space for them to feel like they belong.

That’s a pretty big responsibility. So, where the heck do you start? And how do you make sure your efforts are thorough enough?

In this talk, Jessica will take a look at the importance of inclusivity, considerations for any inclusivity effort, and the foundations of inclusive thinking. By the end, you’ll not only have some great starting points, but you’ll also have key touchpoints that can guide you through all stages of inclusivity efforts big and small.
