The Venue Copenhagen Volume
Volume is a spacious venue located on the border between Vesterbro and Sydhavnen, in the south-west of Copenhagen. Embracing the industrial history of the area – the building used to be a tram depot – it is a vibrant location with edge, nerve, and a diversity.
With its 700 square meters, this venue hosts a wide variety of cultural events, such as exhibits, concerts, and conferences. The building has undergone a major acoustic renovation that ensures a razor-sharp sonic experience. The old factory windows provide lots of natural light, and the ceiling is 10 m high, allowing perfect ventilation – something that has become particularly important during Covid times.
Volume also shares its outdoor space with two other cultural institutions. One is Game, an NGO with nearly 20 years of experience in empowering children and youth from vulnerable areas and refugee settings, lowering the threshold to the positive social communities of street sports and culture. The other is AFUK, an untraditional educational and association environment focused on festivals, exhibitions, workshops, and performances. Lunch and some of the workshops will be held at Game, which sits across the outdoor space, in front of the main venue.
